You write. We listen.  You say Jump.  We ask, "How high?"  You tell us that we should offer personalized E-Cards.  We say, "Why didn't we think of that!!"  Here you go!

First Things First

What is an E-Card?
An E-Card (sometimes written eCard) is an environmentally friendly way to share your news or send a greeting.  You may also print your own cards using the high resolution jpeg image that Inventing Matilda will create for you.  E-Cards are great alternatives for budget conscious and environmentally responsible individuals.

What is the price difference?

New parents will save money and paper by opting to send news of their new baby using an E-Card. Our professionally personalized cards cost $10. You pay nothing for shipping and you will receive a high resolution jpeg within 1 business day after you approve your final proof.

I want to be able to take these to a printer. Will I be able to print the E-card and have actual printed announcements...for scrapbooking and sending to family and friends?

Absolutely! You will receive a custom jpeg image containing the information you send to Inventing Matilda. You will be able to print it, send it, and scrap it. Your E-Card may be posted on your blog, printed locally and sent to Grandma, and saved in your albums.

If I were to order printed announcements from Inventing Matilda, my cards could be double sided. Will my E-Card have two sides?

Typically, customers opting for an E-Card have their announcement printed on photo paper and end up with a single-sided card to save and share. If you would like to have two sides sent to you, please note your request in your E-Card Order email at ecard@inventingmatilda.com. You will receive two jpegs. The first will be the front of your card and the second jpeg will represent the back of your card. There is an additional cost of $5 for the second jpeg.

What is a jpeg?

In computing, JPEG (pronounced JAY-peg) is a commonly used method of compression for photographic images. The degree of compression can be adjusted, allowing a selectable trade off between storage size and image quality. JPEG typically achieves 10 to 1 compression with little perceivable loss in image quality.

JPEG is the most common image format used by digital cameras and other photographic image capture devices, and is the most common format for storing and transmitting photographic images on the internet.
